 Haven’t you learned yet?

Someone has to be the villain so everyone else can stay alive.

  • INDEPENDENT AND SEMI-SELECTIVE W.D. GASTER

#01  :  I prefer literate paragraph style roleplaying. But I try not to be picky. Just know that if it’s not that, I’ll be much slower to respond than usual.
My replies tend to run long, and I don't expect you to match length, but it can be very discouraging to only get a line or two back.

#02  :   OC and Crossover friendly, though I might be a bit selective. If I know a fandom I’m more likely to crossover with it.
If your character is an OC, I’d prefer if you have a page with info on them, so I can know about them before RPing.

#03  :  I don’t usually send in rules passwords because of anxiety. But know that I HAVE read your rules. Multiple times before ever daring to interact with you, probably.
I will like your rules acknowledgement post, if you have one. That doesn't bother me.

#04  :   I’m 26, but I will not RP smut. I’m ace, and that makes me really uncomfortable. Sorry. Other NSFW is fine though. I don't shy away from graphic content. I just can't write sex stuff.

  • *No matter what it costs ME, I want HIM happy

Dr. Gaster is a monster with a brilliant mind and a troubled past, but a rather cold way of viewing the world. At one point in his life, all he wanted was to help people and improve the world through scientific discovery, and some part of him still wants that, but his ethics for what he's willing to do for that goal have eroded away, and he views things in a 'greater good' way, willing to hurt a few for the benefit of the many. The longer the monsters are trapped underground, the more miserable everyone gets. As the Royal Scientist, Gaster sees it as his duty to fix that. He created to core, but that was only a stop gap measure to make being trapped down here more bearable. And not perfectly functional yet, as it's prone to dangerous power surges. He sees it as his job to free everyone from their underground prison, and he believes anything is worth accomplishing that goal.He understood souls very well by this point, had rigorous, well evidenced theories worked out on the function of souls. And that knowledge led him to a very dark thought.A very, very dark one. One about how, through on the very rare phenomenon of soul bonds, magic can be amplified some, and that it might be possible to get that rare effect to be even stronger. That maybe, there could be enough amplification to break the barrier. He tried to dismiss the idea; even if he could make new souls with a stronger bond, even the tests to figure out exactly how much those souls could handle would be beyond unethical. He couldn't.
But he kept coming back to it, especially seeing how much all of the underground was hurting for still being trapped. How much this declaration of war against fallen humans was tearing Asgore apart...
It's better this way. He'll pay the personal cost of doing harm to others, to save Asgore from it.
And... two lives of his own making suffering is better than more death, isn't it?Whatever it takes, he's going to break the barrier. No matter the cost. Even if it kills him in the end.
He just hopes Sans and Papyrus find a happy life after this, on the surface. He doesn't deserve to ever see the sky again, but the should be able to live in happiness after it will be their souls that get everyone free.

YOU’VE SEEN YOUR WORLD IN ASHES, BEEN TIED DOWN AND HOPELESS, YOU’VE BEEN THERE AND YOU’VE SEEN IT ALL. AND STILL, YOU PERSISTED. DOESN’T THAT SAY SOMETHING ABOUT YOU?

Dr. W.D. Gaster is the Royal Scientist, and is willing to go to great lengths to get the monsters out of the underground.
Any lengths, no matter the detriments to himself. Even hurting two skeleton kids that he created himself that he should; by all means; be a father to.
Inpired loosely by Handplates by Zarla-s, but not based on it.
-
This should be assumed as the "base" verse for all other verses where applicable.

Dr. Gaster made a mistake: He got attached to his experiments, and couldn't go through with his plans, and now he has to deal with being a father, which he's wholly unprepared for.

Dr. W.D. Gaster good as ceased to exist one day, when he he 'fell' into his own invention, with no memory of him having ever existed, and the only traces of him that remain being his work.
Fragments of him still exist though, still watching and desperately trying to reach the world again.

From the Void, Gaster becomes aware of other worlds, and gradually gain the ability to connect, to influence. Maybe he's still doing unethical things in the name of helping people, he's not sure whether it's right, but he's doing it, and he's not alone, connecting to others lost in the void, or disconnected from themselves.

Dr. Gaster, in all his reaching, manages to drag himself from the void, back to his own world. A world that no longer remembers him. He resigns himself to this fate, considering the isolation a punishment for his crimes.
